FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Hollywood - James C. Lee, the youngest novelist to be awarded the Pulitzer Prize at age 17, is currently residing in California and is seeking employment, or at least, a gig that pays...

Lee was the recipient of the 1989 Pulitzer Prize for his novel, “Harry the Happy Hairdresser.”  Prior to writing fiction he worked as a broadcast journalist during the early 1980’s.  His interview subjects included former Presidents Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan and the ever popular, Kermit the Frog.

A New Jersey native for over 15 years, Lee now resides in San Gabriel, California.  Most recently, Lee returned to broadcast journalism and worked for International Community Radio Taipei (ICRT), where he was the morning news producer for the island’s only English language radio station.

Lee wrote, edited and produced an hour-long news show, which later became the two-hour long “morning edition.” On that show he taught a 5-minute segment on useful, “Chinese words for the day.”

He was the colorman for Taiwan Baseball’s game of the week and his crowning moment came when he single handedly anchored the Hong Kong takeover from China in 1997.

Lee returned to the U.S. in 1999 because, “it was simply time to move on to better things.”  He says he hopes one of those “things” is stand up comedy and is currently studying under the tutelage of “L.A. Superbowl of Comedy Winner” Bobbie Oliver.

He has appeared at the City of Hope, The Comedy Store, Pasadena Ice House and countless other charities and coffee houses.  Lee most recently qualified to be one of the eight finalists for the August 4, 2004 and March 2, 2005 Uncle Clyde’s comedy contest in Pasadena. .

Anyone wishing to consider Mr. Lee for possible employment or comedy show should contact him at jimleee@yahoo.com.
